The Rev. Dr. Nancy T. Hauser+, Rector
Nancy Hauser grew up in the Diocese of Central New York. She was baptized at Trinity Episcopal Church in Syracuse, New York. Her family moved to Bakersfield, California where she was confirmed at All Saints Episcopal Church. She and her husband, Ed, were married at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Chenango Bridge, New York. Nancy and Ed have four grown children: Michael, (wife-Callie, son-Radko, and daughter-Rhone), Jeffrey (wife-Kirstyn, sons-Cole and Gavin, and daughter-Brooke), Caroline and Briana.
Nancy graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia, with a BS in music and education and an MS in Psychological Foundations of Education. Prior to attending seminary, she served in a number of teaching positions including, director of a preschool, kindergarten and first grade classroom education, elementary, middle and high school music and as adjunct faculty in psychology at three community colleges in the SUNY system.
She graduated from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia with an M.Div. She completed her Doctorate of Ministry (DMin.) at Episcopal Divinity School, in Cambridge, MA. Her thesis topic was Incarnational Theology and the Spiritual Care of Persons Living with Dementia. She began working at Episcopal Church of the Advent in August 2005, and now serves as our Rector
