Kym Dyer
I have been a member of the Church of the Advent since 1995---25 years. I was confirmed in this church and my 3 daughters were active in church school activities, confirmation instruction, and youth trips. Each of them were confirmed at Advent. I met my husband, Bob Dyer, in this church (under the large tree that used to be in the front of the Narthex door) and
we were married at Advent . Our 4 grandchildren have been baptized here. I have been very involved in the community of Advent. My service includes office support, usher, Altar Guild (including a term as Director), Eucharistic Minister, service on the worship and outreach committees, and most recently, the Silent Auction and Artistic Fair church fundraiser.
Bob and I have supported Advent financially and voluntarily, including the donation for the refurbishing of one of the stained glass windows that hang in our Sanctuary today.
I was a Registered Radiologic Technologist as well as a Registered Nurse, Oncology Certified, and home infusion care RN. I was the nurse for the AIDS walk one year.. (I rode in the medical van). My professional life led me transitioning into sales, and eventually to local, regional sales management with the last 10 years before retirement in National Director positions in the biotech divisions of J&J and Biogen.
Several years ago I volunteered at KACS for 1.1/2 years, For the past 4+ years, I have volunteered at a local non profit vetted outreach program for Chester County needs.
I have also been a member and officer in the DAR, where we continue to support our local veterans as well as hospitalized veterans in Landstuhl, Germany.
We are also dedicated to all of our Chester County schools, students and educators with awards, recognition, and scholarships to support their continued education. I am also a member of OES, again, another non profit organization dedicated to service in our community.
I have never served on the garden committees, as a service to our church.
Bob and I also continue to support our church in various ways. I am looking forward to serving our congregation in my Vestry position

Larry Hess
I have been attending the Church of the Advent for the past several years. I welcome the opportunity to serve the church by helping to provide guidance and support in addressing the spiritual growth and the care needs of our congregation, the stewardship of our church resources, and through our church mission activities, ways of reaching out to spread the word of God and addressing the needs of our local community. Becoming a member of the Vestry provides me with the opportunity for my own personal growth within our church community.
